Frequently Asked Questions

Is there any cost for the course?

NO - The course is 100% free.  The only cost to you will be for a kit bundle. for those on a low income a bursary is available to assist with this

What are the entry requirements?

The entry requirements are 4 GCSE 4-9 Grades including English and Maths however should you not achieve this we have specialist English and Maths Tutors in order to help you obtain your required grades. You must also be between 16 and 18 years old on the 31st August on the start of the Academic year you wish to start studying.

Do you have to be currently playing for a Bedworth United Team ?

NO - But we have 2 teams playing at youth level that play midweek that you can become part of.

Can I schedule a visit to see the Academy before I enrol ?

YES -  Please contact us and we set up an appointment for you to visit.

Are there any other costs involved?

The only cost to yourself is to purchase the kit bundle.  For those parents on a low income there is a bursary available through the education provider which can cover this.

What Safeguarding measures are in place?

We want to ensure that your time at Bedworth United Academy is as enjoyable as possible. Unlike many sports course providers we also have our own very experienced designated Welfare/Safeguarding Officer who will conduct regular tutorials and will always be available whenever students are on site should you have any issues.
All conversations with the Welfare officer will be strictly confidential. As an Academy we strive to be as inclusive as possible and will not tolerate any form of bullying or abuse. Everyone should feel safe and free from any discrimination during their time at Bedworth United Football Academy.

Can Parents/Guardians attend matches?

YES - But we request that any supporters do not coach from the sideline and conduct themselves in line with the Bedworth United's policy on spectators,  anyone breaching this policy will be asked to leave.  Policy is available on request.

Will Parents/Guardians be informed of students progress?

YES - We pride ourselves on communication with parents/guardians and encourage dialogue between students, Parents/Guardians and Tutors. If at anytime you have any concerns about your child then please contact us at the earliest opportunity

My Child has a SEN in place would this prevent them attending the Academy?

NO - We are totally committed to being an inclusive Academy and we have tutors that have worked with a wide variety of SEN students and will fully support them in their learning.

Is there transport for away fixtures?

YES - We have a minibus that is used for all away fixtures at no extra cost to yourself.  If there is an especially long journey to an away fixture then we will hire a more comfortable coach with a driver to ensure that players arrive in the best shape they can for any match.

What progression is there after the course?

Upon successful completion of the BTEC Level 3 Nationals in Sport Extended Diploma, students will have the equivalent of 3 A levels. The course not only serves as a route to full time employment, it is also a proven progression route to Higher Education, such as University and degree level. Careers Course applicable to:

Another progression route for our students is the link we have with Future Lions who are one of the market leaders offering football Scholarships in a variety of countries including India and the USA.
